Was on a hibernation spell for the past 5 days. When I got back, I happened to read Jagx’s satiric blog on sacrifices from which developed this story:

They came, they saw and they met. And as a twist, they loved too ….. they were the perfect foil to each other ….. but the society and everyone around had other ideas …. Everyone agreed their backgrounds were improperly matched and there were class differences.
Tearfully, they went on their own ways.

The woman had a couple of children and double the number of grandchildren, a great caring and loving husband and a peaceful life.
Finally, she was on her deathbed. And just before she died, she uttered two words “ If only “ Her doctor covered her dead body and removed the meagre pieces of jewellery to pass it on to her family.
And by chance, he opened her locket ….. to find his dad’s snap inside.

me first :)
the title of the post '*' spouted this '#' out of me, for which i demand no-blame-attached.

coming back to your post,
'if only' : goes like the script suitable for a bollywood flick :)

The Q to be asked is, what would the doctor do?
A. Will he pester his father now with "y u ditched my mom all her life when u loved someone else. She died craving for ur love, which u cud never give her.
I died the 25 years of my life for a glint of luv in ur eyes. And this lady for whome i spent days n nights studying her, examining her, diagnosing her, caring her like my own mom, trying to rescue her from the mouths of hell, in her dying moments utters the last words for you !!
You have to answer for the tears she cried, for the affection i starved of, for the faith you breached .. .. .. "

The further part cud come as 'if only reloaded' ..

I only have to say - never say "If only" - the past is the past, the future will be brighter...

Personal experience :)

Hi Deepa,

Great story. Looks like you are in the short story mode still!! :))

Finally I have taken the tag. Here it is:

She looked at the carnage in disbelief. So many lives snuffed in seconds. Young, old, middle aged, they lay everywhere in heaps, some with life still flickering in them. In a swift act of mercy she shot them to their final rest. This new Bayer Cockroach Spray was indeed good as promised by the salesman.

@ invincible..
naahhh dude..you aint seen amny mallu serials lately...recently they've been of "very high standard" and this story qualifies for only about a few dozen episodes of a serial as well as contributing to half the plot:P

Not Bollywood material .. definately not .. Indians will condemn anything even closely linked to extra-marital afairs ;) .. Might make the story line for a Hollywood flick though ..
