L E P A K S H I

Had a great weeeknd ....

There was continuous rain ... enjoyed it a lot .... and , there was the LEPAKSHI Fair. Lepakshi is a place in Andhra , near Thirupati .....

The artifacts from there are just too good ... especially their terracotta dolls ....

In fact , went on Friday evening to have a look around ... but , couldnt resist the temptation ,.... so, went back on Saturday and bought stuff ...

Couldnt resist the temptation yet again , and went back on Sunday ...

Bought dolls ,
loads of bangles ( yet again ) ,
jute bags ,
Tribal earings ( Thatz what my sis calls them : They are actually beads strung to form earings )
and some cute jeans-tops ....

All these stuff have a charm of their own ... They look tribal and so mysterious

There were jute sarees too ... cool ones .... but didnt buy any of them as i was concerned with the accumulating stuff at home ...

Now , i love the name LEPAKSHI .... Would anyone name their daughter ( or is it son) Lepakshi ???
And what would they call her ? Pakshi or Le or Lepa ????

One of the things my city lacks is a fair-type thing. If we want to buy something here, we are forced into the malls. What fun...

by the way, i think that kseb has plans to expand to the USA. they are doing an experiment with my connection i think. i get 110V(havent checked if its 60HZ :) ) supply from 6pm - 10pm *sigh* my poor poor ups...

another thing i hate abt the rain is that my cable connection goes out when it rains... boohoo

@ ...d u know those bangles :
Yeah ... i know them ...
but , i generally buy glass ...
This time mom and sis bought the mental ones with Kundan work .. exactly like the ones u mean , but these are of different colors , and not gold .. the stones are also of different colours ... and no ' jhiumkis ' attached to these ..
i bought metals ones which had clay and roses made of clay on them .. full brown .. the roses were light pinkish brown.

Come down here , na ? u get bangles of all types real cheap ...

2 Shikha :
Heh heh heh !!!
I dont think the people who coined the name 'Lepakshi' would be so glad to hear their creation called ' Yakshi '.

2 Poison :

I am fed up of shopping at these handicraft exhibitions. You are so tempted to buy stuff and then it just accumulates in the house. Now I buy only what I need. But I still LOVE going for these exhibitions.Wish the quality was good enough. None of these stuff last long.

RP said...

Hey b-celebrity.
Lepakshi exhibition? Kool. I happened to attend one few weeks ago. Actually, stumbled upon and just wanted to entertain my cousin and so entered. But ended up spending few hundereds without actually planning to. Damn the exhibition, every piece was too good. It increased my collected & decreased my savings(as though I have).

cos of the low voltage here, i use a step up transformer from which the ups supply is taken. sometimes i forget to set it back to normal during day time. overvoltage causes to mosfet to go psshh and burn.

first, the aroma of fried electronic components fills the room. then white smoke wafts out of the ups. wait for one more moment and u will see flames inside the ups, through the slats provided on its body!

costs me 200 bucks everytime that happens.

i'd been to Tirupati twice, dint know of this place :(

"Bought dolls ,
---- dolls ?
loads of bangles ( yet again ) ,
---- haha
jute bags ,
---- so u've replaced ur office bag wth them ?
Tribal earings
and some cute jeans-tops .... "

---- i m imagining u wearing ur jeans tops with bangles, tribal earrings, carrying jute bag in one hand n doll in other going to office :p :p

wd anyone name their son 'thirumala' ?

wait a min i think
LEPAKSHI -> LEPA + KSHI -> LEPA + KESHI . Oh !! So Keshi's name is derived out of this place :) :)

P.S. It is a well agreed fact that my YM sucks. Can u drop a blank mail to my Y mail so I can add u in my buddy list (cos i neva got any invitation from u) .

m taking care of my arm.
